….Congratulates other new appointees
A Civil Society Organization, CSO, Grassroots Solidarity Group (GSG), Tuesday, hailed Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, on the appointment of Hon Boniface Okache as Deputy Chief of Staff.
The Governor Otu was commended in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Comrade Ebriku John Friday, described the Governor’s appointment as step in the right direction for placing persons in the right positions.
Friday said the organisation salutes the courage of the Governor for.making smart appointments based on the personalities and pedigree they possess.
According to the group, Okache who hails from Ada Okpoma Yala in Cross River State, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served previously in key governmental positions.
The group added that before this appointment, he was the Secretary of Council in Yala Local Government, where he was instrumental in various administrative and community-focused initiatives and development.
Meanwhile, other notable personalities the Governor appointed include Hon Angela Odey as Special Adviser on Rural Development, who had previously served as the immediate past Director-General Cross River State Emergency Management Agency.
She had also served under former Governor Ben Ayade as Director General, DG, School to Land Agency and a former Board member of Nigeria Sugar Development Council.
He said: “It is was delight we in Grassroots Solidarity Group, GSG, received the news of the heartwarming announcement about the appointment of Hon Boniface Okache as Deputy Chief of Staff by the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Bassey Otu.
“We strongly commend and hail our amiable Governor for the wisdom and discreet appointment he made and to graciously appoint a man of impeccable character and a patriot who stands for the common course of the grassroots people of Cross River State, Hon Boniface Okache.
“We will really appreciate the Governor for placing a round peg in a round hole, and based on his pedigree and track record, the input and impact Hon Okache’s impact in this administration will take the State to greater heights.
“We believe in the ability and performance of Hon Okache, and this is not far-fetched based on what he had displayed in transforming the lives of the people.
“Governor Otu’s decision to appoint Okache reflects a strategic choice aimed at leveraging Okache’s extensive experience and proven track record in public service.
“The appointment is expected to bolster the administrative capacity of the Governor’s office and enhance the execution of key policies and projects.”
They also use the opportunity to appreciate Governor Otu for appointing Cross Riverians of high repute, professionalism and patriotism.
They expressed confidence that the appointees will deliver services to better the lives of our people.
They include Barr Roland Ipuole, appointed as Director and Head of Legal, Border Communities’ Development Commission; Mr Francis Peters, appointed as Director, Cross River State Board of Internal Revenue Service; Mr Eje Victor Bravo Oluohu, appointed as Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation.

“Hon Eddy Achi as member Commercial Transportation Regulatory Agency; Hon Emma Anoh on his appointment as Special Adviser on Agric Value Chain; Hon Godwin Nyiam as Director General, Cross River State Water Board”, he added.
Speaking on his appointment, Okache expressed gratitude to Governor Otu for the opportunity and pledged to bring his full commitment and expertise to the role.
He reiterated his dedication to the development and progress of Cross River State and his readiness to support the Governor in achieving the administration’s objectives.
